Tanya is passionate about social justice, most specifically race and gender. Continually working to break her own socially conditioned binary views to realize a both/and vision of the world while also helping to coach other people wanting to work on living in accordance with their values. She is building a business as a consultant for Beautycounter - a clean beauty brand out of California and is also an accountability coach. Tanya loves paper crafts and cats!

Angela is a visionary and inspirational leader with over 27 years of experience that has primarily focused on the development and implementation of early learning, childcare and youth engagement programs. She strives to use her voice as an advocate for young people through community leadership
such as in her former role as Vice President of the Federal Way Board of Education.

Current Member

Tanisha is a lifelong resident of Vancouver. She is a proud graduate of Washington State University-Vancouver. Tanisha is a CASA Program Specialist for the YWCA Clark County, advocating for children in Foster Care.  Tanisha is the State Committeewoman for the 17th LD Democrats, Washington State Democrats Executive Board Member, serves as a member of LICWAC (Local Indian Child Welfare Advisory Committee) and is Co-Chair of Evergreen Citizens for Schools. Most recently she ran for 17th LD State Representative. 



Shasti Conrad 

Independent Expenditures | Co- Founder

Shasti is the first woman of color chair for the Martin Luther King County Democrats in Washington State, the 4th largest county party organization in the country. During the first term of the Obama Administration, she served as a senior staff assistant in the White House, and a briefings manager on the 2012 campaign.  For the 2020 election cycle, Shasti was the National Director of Surrogates for the Bernie Sanders campaign.

Former Director of Communications 

KD is the founder of KD Hall Communications and the epitome of a communications guru from networking, external relations, crisis manager, problem solver genius and an impactful professional public speaker. She serves as an affiliate professor in the Masters of Communications Leadership program at the University of Washington and a guest instructor for the Evans school at University of Washington. KD is a member of the Washington State Women's Commission Task Force, 2019 Cohort Women on the Watch recipient from the 425 Magazine.

Josie Olson


Josie Olsen works at Blue Wave Political Partners, LLC. She manages the compliance operations for local and state races in Washington and California, as well as federal committees across the country. She is originally from the Mojave Desert and moved to Washington in 2013.



Erin Jones

Current Member | Founding Board Member 

Erin has been involved in and around schools for the past 26 years. She has taught in a variety of environments, from predominantly Black to predominantly White to some of the most diverse communities in the nation. Erin received an award as the Most Innovative Foreign Language Teacher in 2007, while teaching in Tacoma and was the Washington State Milken Educator of the Year in 2008, while teaching in Spokane. She received recognition at the White House in March of 2013 as a "Champion of Change” and was Washington State PTA’s “Outstanding Educator” in 2015.

Joy Stanford

Officer: Endorsements- Current Member

Joy, known lovingly as “Ms. Joy” by students in her community, is a mother, housing and health care advocate, and substitute teacher in the West Sound region where she has lived for over twenty years. She is a fierce activist for Women, children, education, homelessness, equity and diversity. Joy  has worked for Shared Housing Services as a Community Outreach Specialist, helping Pierce county residents avoid housing instability and she co-founder and co-chair the Gig Harbor-Key Peninsula Housing & Homeless Coalition.


Senator Mona Das

Alumni - Founding Board Member 

Senator Das was born to Indian parents who immigrated to America’s rust belt with only $6 in their pockets, yet full of hope about building a better life for their family. Mona came to the United States when she was eight months old and spent her childhood moving around due to her father’s job, living in eight states and three countries. She finally settled down in Kent, where she currently lives, and is extremely proud to call the 47th legislative district home.


Senator Rebecca Saldaña

Alumni - Founding Board Member 

Sen. Saldaña is the Washington State Senate Deputy Majority Leader and represents the 37th Legislative District. She’s known as a problem solver and tireless advocate for racial, social, and economic justice, she brings 16 years of experience as an organizer with SEIU Local 6, the United Farm Workers, and Oregon’s farmworker union, PCUN.


Dawn Bennett

Alumni - Founding Board Member 

Dawn is the Co-Founder of the Multicultural Education Rights Alliance (McERA). As a basketball player and coach, gang prevention specialist and caseworker for the City of Seattle and the Liaison for African American families for Seattle Public Schools, Dawn has worked to support those who might otherwise fall through the education gaps. 


Cindi Bright

Alumni Founding Board Member 

Cindi is the President of The Bright Group, a management consulting firm focusing on the ecosystems of corporate America impacting and impeding progress for brown and black people. She is the Producer and Host of HeartBeat radio, in its third year, a live weekly show hosted on Rainier Avenue Radio, Diverse community programming, focusing on the “heart condition” of this country impeding diversity progress.


Tara Davis

Alumni Board Member

Tara Davis was born and raised in the Seattle area. Tara  grew up as an active member the Rotary Boys and Girls Club.  It was at this center and club where she quickly realized a true passion in athletics.  Davis received an athletic scholarship to the University of Washington in 1990. After graduating in 1995, Davis went on to work with at-risk high school students in the Renton School District where she developed a tutoring outreach program and also assisted with the girls basketball and track and field team.

Hamdi Mohamed

Alumni - Founding Board Member 

Hamdi Mohamed is a social justice policy advocate and grassroots community organizer. For over a decade, Hamdi has served immigrants and refugees from diverse cultural, religious, and linguistic backgrounds. She has served as Deputy District Director and Constituent Services Director for U.S. Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, published interest-stories on discrimination and food security crises with CARE International, and helped Refugee Women Alliance prepare low-income residents for job search and employment attainment. She currently works for King County Office of Equity and Social Justice as a Policy Advisor. Hamdi is a graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Law, Societies, and Justice.  


Shukri Ollo

Alumni - Founding Board Member 

Shukri is a mother to two young people and a doctoral candidate at Seattle University. Professionally, she leads the Youth Development Strategy with Best Starts for Kids, King County. Previously, she was a Project Coordinator with Seattle Public Schools, where she led the

implementation of a federal education grant focused on reducing chronic absenteeism and discipline for African and African American students who attend SPS schools in the Southeast region of Seattle.
